The Asylum Project

The Asylum Project is a campaign dedicated to transforming the representation of asylum seekers in the British media. Working in collaboration with asylum support organisations, researchers, and advocates, the project challenges the harmful narratives that fuel fear and division. Through research, storytelling, and education, we expose misleading coverage, amplify lived experiences, and promote a public conversation grounded in empathy, truth, and dignity. By pairing media analysis with community engagement and advocacy, Reframing Refuge seeks to realign public understanding of asylum, moving beyond rhetoric to recognise the human realities at its core.

Alongside our research and storytelling work, we campaign for change, building coalitions, lobbying policymakers, and mobilising public support for fairer, evidence-based approaches to asylum. Through petitions, community workshops, and targeted media advocacy, The Asylum Project seeks to replace rhetoric with reality, restoring empathy and truth to the national conversation on migration.
